The Truth is

If I told you how worried
I get when I see lost spiders
wandering around
on the kitchen floor
or the fact that young women
who have never heard
a machine gun
are writing brilliant
war poetry, I wouldn't
be exagerating or
jealous of the way
poetry isn't about
war or savagery
or hunger anymore
than it is about love.
